Who is Rusty Lime?
In coming to Rusty Lime, you’re coming to me: Katie (hello!) An enthusiastic multi-tasker who loves finding new ways to be green and goes above and beyond for family, friends, colleagues and clients.
I’ve been passionate about sustainability for as long as I can remember. The same goes for my joy of designing and planning events. I’ve spent the last eight years dedicating my time to combining these two loves: organizing high-level events in the UK and abroad for Ministers and CEOs, running my University’s landmark social event and Freshers’ week, and creating unique spaces for panels, workshops and networking at several UN climate conferences, and many more.
My knowledge of sustainability sets me apart. With an undergraduate degree in Geography (Cambridge University) and Masters in Environment and Development (London School of Economics) I have a deep understanding of nature and climate, what it takes to be ‘green’ and how to put academia into practice.

When my younger sister announced she was getting married with only three months' notice, I did what any older sibling would do: I immediately jumped into action, creating a pinterest board, and writing a list of key questions. Through organising her wedding I learnt how difficult it is to plan things with sustainability in mind - how long it takes to find plastic free or reusable decorations, to design menus that are seasonal, locally sourced and lower in emissions (whilst still being delicious), and to source organic flowers that haven’t been sent from the other side of the world.
I believe that it's our sustainability choices that make the difference. You don't have to be a militant green warrior or make sacrifices to do that. Making more environmental choices also means suiting a range of budgets, styles and preferences. For example, I’m an imperfect ‘vegan’ who has a weak spot for cheese and eats locally when it's affordable. I mostly only buy second hand clothes yet I have a mild addiction to last minute cheap flights
At Rusty Lime we celebrate whatever being greener or green-ish looks like to you. If you’re looking for a creative, passionate, and skilled sustainability expert then you’ve come to the best place. I can’t wait to start this journey together.
It doesn’t really mean anything!
Rusty lime was inspired by the name of the main two colours of the tree in the garden where I grew up, one day described by my mum as “a little rusty with a bit of lime”.
